Attention Voting Registrars and Contestant Owners:
Welcome to the Cat Connection monthly photo contest. Our cute contestants deserve the very best so we have taken the necessary steps to ensure
that each of our contestants has a winning chance. Please submit photos before the last week of each month to ensure a place in upcoming contest.
Each monthly contest ends on the last day of the month.
Please do not crop your photos into circles or irregular shapes, add decorative borders, captions, or otherwise manipulate your cat's photo
heavily. These images will not be accepted into the contest. Each cat should be showcased in his or her purest form.
Drum up support for your cat by clicking on the "Current Results" link located at the bottom of the ballot and send a "Vote for my favorite
cat!" message to all of your friends when you "Email This Poll"
Voters are only allowed to vote one time for one cat. Secure polling software is used to ensure that all votes originate from a unique email
address and/or computer so no one can stuff the ballot box!

Q: I am unable to vote for this month's photo contest? I had forwarded the link to several of my co-workers. Some were able to vote but for
others, they only receive the screen with the results displayed and not the screen enabling them to vote. Please Help.
A: This is a common problem with computers that share an IP address, a lot of the time these are computers in the same office or connected to
the same router. Since we prevent "stuffing the ballot" we have security measures in place that register each email and IP address (a computers
unique ID), if IP's are to similar they will register as already having voted, however the IP will reset in 30 minutes after a vote. If this is
the case, I recommend spacing out the votes so the IP has enough time to reset.
Q: How are the Winners determined?
A: While uniqueness of photo and your kitty's cuteness will certainly factor into the equation, The Cat Connection Cat of the Month Winner
(chosen by our shop cats), will be based heavily on criteria such as photo quality (focus, lighting, etc.) and composition. A second Cat of the
Month Winner will also be determined by popular vote via On-Line voting and awarded a prize.
Q: My cats percentage of votes keeps changing or has not changed?
A: Votes are ranked in percentages, so the more votes we receive the more the percentages fluctuate. For example, if we have a total of 100
votes and your kitty has 10 of those votes, they would have 10% of the vote. The more votes we receive the more the percentages will change.
Please keep in mind there are lots of cats in the contest and as people vote, the percentages will rise and fall depending on the total number of
votes.
